Big Decision for JAE

If the powers that be, decide to pick me to represent the OC at the Car pull at JAE again this year, A decision has to be made, you lot might be able to help me with it  .....

For those who don't know the car pull is 30 meter pull towing a car weighing approx 1.2 ton, last year it was up hill on grass,

Well it goes like this after last years Car Pull, John Fuggles took me to one side and asked that if I entered this year (2014), "Can I please not try to win by such a huge margin", I did it in 29 seconds the 2nd place guy did it in 54, and everyone else was about a minute plus and one guy didn't even get it off the start line and gave up after 3 &1/2 minutes, John said "It might start putting people off from entering in future years if they don't think they have a chance" ,

The dilemma is this.......

Do I do as the big man asks and slow down a bit and make everyone else look better and let them think they have a chance OR Do I just smash it and try beating my time for last year and leave everyone else standing.....

What do you think :confused1:

Destroy them, unfortunately in life; there is always someone younger and better just around the corner. You will lose eventually and better that it was a fair loss to someone better than you.

And if he pulls you aside again say that you were taking it easy, and you know where his car is parked :D

Justin - you dont know who is entering. You could take it easy and do it in 45 seconds and a new competitor comes in and does it in 35 seconds.
2nd place for you but 6 seconds worse than your time last year. Unfair question to be asked.
It like saying to Bolt take it easy in the final - we dont want to put people off from the 100m

Just do it as normal and say you ain't a cheat. It's not your fault that the other competitors ain't as good as you are :th:

Is he going to ask the other footy teams to not score goals cuz we've never won it before? ;)

Justin first of all why haven't you told me this ? and secondly it is a totally unfair question to be asked of you especially after last yr when you were asked to allow another competitor to have a go after the event was over and you said " Yes no problem ".

You could of lost to that guy after you allowed the JAE team break their own rules on late entries and you agreed, so do as you always do and that's your best, that's all the OC gang can ask of you and I hope I don't speak for myself when I say we`re all proud of you for stepping up each yr to do it :th:

Just smash it as normal and I`ll still be stood on the final line as usual shouting you on

EXACTLY!

Smash is Jus! :)

I'll deal with any backlash. Though you can simply say you were taking it easy or say you thought he was joking.

That's ridiculous. I know bolt eases up toward the end of a race if he's in front but that's a different game.
Just do your best. If it's faster than anyone else, so what. If it's not (very doubtful) then you have given your all.
It's like asking a boxer to take a dive. He should be ashamed for asking.
Do the other athletes think 'sod that, bolts in this race I won't bother?'
