Drivers control arm Ball joint MK3?

Post by fraserh »

Hi There,
Working on my sons newly acquired MR2 replacing various components including the lower control arm. Can anyone tell me what I need to remove this bolt/ attachment. The MR2 workshop manual refers to a special service tool but cant seem to resolve this through the usual internet searches.

Welcome to the club :th:
If your talking about the ball joint on the bottom suspension arm as shown here

Then it's just a normal ball joint, remove the split pin and the castellated nut, then use a ball joint splitter to release it (the pin is tapered)
Black is not a colour ! .... Its the absence of colour
