As above a thread for everyone to collate their photos and videos from the day.

I'll try and get my videos edited and uploaded in due course for people to watch, and my err questionable racing lines... :laughing

Not as bad as mine [emoji15]
I've got a video from the first session and one from the second but I had the instructor in and no boost so I'll leave that [emoji53]

Why do I have the feeling I'm going to be on most of the videos? :laughing

Well recovered or made safe. :th: The instructor told me to bang it hard into the left hander, clip the curb and brake like fook before the right hander in a straight line, then brake again to dip the nose to aid turn in and bang on the throttle as soon as you see the track from the left. Took a couple of laps, as that is a tricky corner to get right.

Strangely my lines did change a bit out of becketts depending on if I had cars in front of me (for a potential overtake). So exited on the left hand side.

But when no cars were about I was clipping the right had side of the track on exit.

Not sure which way was quickest.
Perhaps an instructor would have been advisable. Ha.

Had a blast though.

First lap, after safety went in, first session, I had a nice spin. Lol.

Glad it was a minor one!

The instructor was insistent I exit on the far left of the track and let the car move across it on full power then pull into the right down the straight afterwards, unless there was a car nearby which I just let off the power and let them by. Saved messing around with gear changes for the next corner :)

Yeah the instructor was definitely a good thing. My lines changed a lot and the car was both quicker and more stable (until I lost boost that is)
Anyway here's the vid from my first session.
Horrible lines horrible shifts it's warts and all. This is after the first red flag as I forgot to start the cam.
Also at some point I developed a boost leak which dropped my max boost from 1.8 to 1.2 bar [emoji20]

Yeah of course, my pleasure :crybaby:

I've also had this before on new pads - if you get them too hot too fast they will just disintegrate on you. it's quite spectacular to see, apparently you get sparks and flames from the wheels at the same time.

looking back at my vids, seems it was 50/50 for me, ha.
think all depends how fast your coming from the corner before, what line etc.
all trial and error really for the noob.
i was into 5th before the under pass and topping near 130mph ish on both wellington straight and the pit straight going by my speedo which reads bang on to my sat nav (running slightly higher profile rears than stock).

odd that i appear to rev match less on track than i do the road, ha.
gareths sounded great and rev matched nicely.

I was being very careful to nail the rev matches... Due to the very worn clutch it really doesn't like it if you miss the rev match, it'll slip. I could have benefited from getting into 2nd for a couple of corners I think as my revs were just too low, as anyone who's driven an NA on track knows, you need to keep it at higher than 4kRPM or your acceleration suffers quite a bit.

New clutch is going in this weekend so will be ready for a full on assault next time :th:
