I've have to say I'm tempted but funds may be an issue. Is there a deadline on this?

No strict deadline, first come first served on places. I think I'll go anyway, but getting the 5 together would be nice for the discount and free pit garage.

Shall we say confirmations by 19th october? In the mean time I'll contact MSV and ask how quickly they usually get booked up.

Maybe my brain isn't functioning too well, but I can't see anything in that link about a discount.
How would one obtain it?

Gaz can you confirm me for this one please, this'll be the old girls last outing before hibernation.

Take the briefing on board (a surprising number don't seem to or promply forget)
Check your mirrors!!
Get out of the way of faster cars (remember it's a track day not a race).
Check all your car's fluids beforehand.
Adjust your tyre pressures (you'll be putting a lot more heat into them than with road driving).
There will be much greater stress on your car: use mechanical sympathy, take regular cooling down breaks.

Enjoy it. :)

I won't know until the end of next week whether my piggy bank will have sufficient funds...
Will keep you posted.

To add to Tony's sound tips:

It's an open pit lane day, and Snetterton 300 is a long circuit so it's very rare for there to be significant traffic, or so many cars on circuit that they have to close the pit lane, so you'll be able to go on the track as you please. If you find yourself sharing track space with someone who's driving in a manner that you don't want anything to do with, just back off and come into the pits. Problem drivers get sorted one way or another - flagged or armco'ed! Saying that though I've done Snetterton a few times now and I've not seen a major incident yet. It's a very beginner friendly track, you'd have to "censored" up very badly to find yourself hitting something as the run offs are large.

Mr. Palmer doesn't like it when you mess up his grass though, they're strict on track limits etc.

So take your time, build your speed / confidence over the day. The track is open for at least 7 hours (as long as there are no incidents) so you have plenty of time to learn the circuit and the limits of the car. The moment you start to feel your brakes fade, do a cooldown lap (half lap at Snetterton is enough really!) and pit. If they feel like they are fading for one stop, chances are they'll be gone on the next!

They usually have some tutors available as well, not sure what the cost is (website states small fee) so I'll ask what that costs.

I've offered this out on Facebook (friends only, not the general MR2 groups) and between here and there, we have more than the 5 needed for the discount if everyone confirms.
