Just ordered a set of these for my 2002 red roadster 2 x 15" with 185 tryes and 2 x 16" rims 215 tyres

Here is my question is the 2002 a facelift model or the early model?

Will the early model be able to accept the 215 x 16 x 50 tryes that facelift can take.

above gives you the pre and post facelift sizes

below allows you to compare the actual sizes.

They are 35mm taller according to the compare site. Not played or had a Mk3 but this feels that they could be too big.

Hopefully a MK3 owner who has done similar will be able to advise better

If they fit the later model (15" front 16" rear) then they should fit the earlier model (15" all round) IIRC only the wheel size changed (plus other cosmetic changes, lights etc)

They will fit fine with no issues at all.

Its a common upgrade to put the 16s on the earlier car as it makes tyre choices easier

Some even go for the 16s all round
