Long time Mk1 Supercharger owner, New member: Hello

Post by charlesmouse » 31/10/18 15:39

Hello all,
I'm the fortunate owner of a Mk1 Supercharger 'ECTS' that I had imported to the UK for me some years ago. At the time it was in what I'd describe as 'showroom' condition, and came with some very interesting upgrades along with a box of the original parts where they had to make room for said upgrades.

It's been my utterly reliable, fun, and much loved, daily driver for some years but the point comes when an old car needs a bit of care to keep it from father time... sadly that's care I'm no-longer in a position to properly provide...

...so I'm sorry to say this introduction is also the start of my very sad goodbye. I'm on the look-out for a new owner whom I can be sure will give this very, very, rare and awesome car the home it deserves.

Where better to look than the UK MR2 Owner's club?

The car is not for sale anywhere as yet, I'm just trying to get a handle on interest while coming to terms with having to let it go. Feel free to ask about history / details / piccies in the meantime, and when I have the heart to I'll likely put up a for sale post.

Many thanks.

Been the same rule for years, most forums are the same, everyone agrees to the rules when they sign up.
If it was harsh the post would be gone! its still here...... so far

Have you looked into getting it restored? At least you'll be able to enjoy her for many more years. Maybe just keep her as a weekend toy like many of us do. Post some pics up so we can see your pride and joy.

Welcome to the club btw

Ok...
I thought I was introducing myself and in the process giving a little background to go along said introduction.

Indeed while I did say circumstances sadly mean I will be looking for a new home for my beloved MR2, and by implication wondering if there's likely to be any interest here, I did also say it's not for sale anywhere at present.

I guess festering on my drive is going to be a better fate for it after-all.

Bye.

Welcome to the club :th:

Don't take any notice of the above, admins just doing their jobs :p Bit hard for anyone to pass any judgement without seeing any pictures to get a gauge on its condition, specs etc. Also hard for people to know how far they may need to travel without a location ;)

Get some more info and pics up, there's a few on here who are always looking for another project....

My reply was in response to to Woody's comment. ;)

I didn't chase him away, he was asked to abide by the rules which he agreed to by accepting the "Terms & Conditions" when he signed up, same as everyone else.

He chose to spit the dummy and leave, despite the fact that his original post is still there, unedited when it could rightfully have been suspended without notification .... so much for being lenient, next time I'll probably just suspend it, save any hassle
