With regards to the brake master cylinder stopper, i recently bought one off of ebay for my mk2, was no more than £20. Not sure if one of these could be fitted to the mk1- may need to drill and threadsome holes to mount it, but shouldn't be much work.

Surely you'll need a much bigger brake master cylinder to cope with the increased volume of fluid with the 205 brakes. They make the pedal spongy even on a mk2.

Podges 205 setup on his mk1.5 work fine with the stock cylinder.

I however have a mk2 turbo one waiting to go on mine

I see. Suppose I'll try it and see what happens.

What the best upgrade for the rears? I heard of the corrado brakes but have heard mixed opinions.

I had the st185 fronts and (modified) turbo/corrado rears. Found them to be great. The only thing I didn't like was the change in pedal travel, but this was to be sorted by fitting a turbo brake master cylinder.
