rattles

have a rattle from the n/s door / bulkhead area any one got any ideas, would be grateful for any help. definitely not any tie rod or suspension as just had mot. checked under front bonnet. just wondered if anyone had any similar probs, disappears when bodywork is hot.

It could be almost anything from a ball joint to a tie rod to a loose shield.

Practically, the only way to discover the culprit will probably be to crawl under the car and tug at stuff: then, if you find nada, get the pry bar out.

Thanks but not from under the car , seems from the scuttle area or the door but already have stripped door and n/s dash. Bound to be something stupid.

Problem with a car is that the noise can seem to come from anywhere as it resonates around the shell.

Any chance of a video? When does it make the noise? Where are you based? There may be a member or specialist nearby.

thanks. seems that I will have to go over it with a fine tooth comb . got to be something silly

Most likely. I found a fuel return line clip on mine had rotated itself 90 degrees and was rattling against a heat shield. Resonated at 2,500rpm ish and drove me mad. Had to strip the car to find it..
