Foam in the engine bay
OK I'm just about to start the winter clean up of the engine bay of the new car, But I was wondering- sandwiched Inbetween the inlet manifold and Camcover is a peice of shaped foam sponge shaped like the manifold, is it worth leaving it out once I've painted the Camcover and manifold, or is it there for some reason that I can't think of , if so i'll just wash it out and put it back on,

Re: Foam in the engine bay
Only thing I can think is it'll stop rubbish building up in there but also lose some of the mechanical noise from the engine...? Only other thing to consider is without it there, rainwater has a direct passage through; what is there that could be affected.. Injectors maybe?
