Battery terminal smoke
My Mr2 mk1, I always jump start with a jump starter, moved it out of my garage on Monday no issue with jump starter, wanted to move it back in today as work in our garage now finished, I washed it today and there was a little water on battery, I wiped it but may not of wiped around the terminal fully, put jump starter on and S. Ike came from positive terminal so turned off, now car battery although has green light won't fire the engine on with the jump-start pack, I also wonder if I put the red on the black (it would be a 1st if I did) but my head was all over the place today so that may have also happened, its either that or water on terminals that caused smoke, what's likely the fix, a fuse? Any advise on how to try fix would be great
Kind regards jamie

Re: Battery terminal smoke
Sounds like you reversed your jump pack leads and blew the fusible link, this article expains where it is https://www.mr2oc.co.uk/know-your2/mk1/ ... NpYmxlIl0= its a special bit of cable that acts as as fuse, I'm not sure if you can still get a replacement from Mr T, any decent auto electrician should be able to supply a suitable bit of cable. You could bypass it (very very temporarily) with a bit of heavy gauge wire, but you have no fuse protection if you do that, so the consequences of reversing jump leads / battery connections could be bad, melted wires, fire etc.

Re: Battery terminal smoke
Mr T = your local Toyota dealer.
Depending on where the link has gone (you have checked that it is blown ?) You may be able to repair it by shortening the link nd recrimping it.
If your not familiar with car electrical work it might be quicker and easier to geta mobile auto electrician to repair/replace it.

Re: Battery terminal smoke
Sounds like two separate faults.
Start with the window, is it jerky and clunks when you move it up/down?
