Front end - feels like it lacks grip on turn in
Hi
I am hoping for some advice
When I purchased the MR2 it had Uniroyals all round, it felt a little disconnected at the front end, almost like the front lacked bite on direction changes and turn in
I put it down to me not being used to a mid engined car, without much weight over the front axle
I changed the tyres recently to Toyo (all round) and had the suspension geometry checked, car feels better, but, I still lack confidence to really push on, this could also be down to the roads never being totally dry and me not driving the MR2 as much, due to working from home
I am unsure what steps I should take next, fit a front strut brace ? fit some lowering springs, change the front dampers ? or should I just give it a while and wait until the temperatures improve, roads dry out and push on a bit more
Any advice would be really appreciated !

Its a pre face lift, with 15" wheels, Tyres are Toyo TR1, running 30front and 32rear tyre pressures

Yes - I assumed that was a given, as I posted it in the MK3 section

4 wheel alignment or just front ?
I havent driven a mk3 for a while but they are usually more planted than the mk2 ,
All mk's are fussy on tyres and pressures though,I run my V6 MK2 on 28psi front and 32 rear,
but you need to experiment with what suits you and your tyres.

The toyos have a reputation for soft sidewalls which can flex when cornering which a lot of people dont like. The normal advice is to increase the pressures but as the front standard pressure is 26, you are already doing that. You could try 32 at the front and see what you think?

I had the tyre pressures on the standard setup and it was pretty dire, it seemed to follow the camber and lorry grooves all over the place
