Didn't get around to it today. I'm stuck in the middle of an epic shock exchange between the 3 MR2s -- although I've got a damn big garage, it's way more convenient to have them on wheels as long as possible. And I've run out of axle stands.

Idea is that the green tub donates its Konis to the red tub, but that involves pulling the shocks from the red n/a and as one of the shock studs has sheered on the konis, I'll have to dig out the spring compressors (which are carefully hidden away in a lock up the other side of Liverpool....... ;)).

Back to the cut out -- I had a quick look -- I can get to the stud by pulling off the rear caliper, no problem, but is that what folk mean by the "cut out"?

If you look behind the studs and rotate the hub, you'll see a small semicircular cutout just big enough to line up the stud with it and top out the stud

Thanks I'll -- hopefully -- give it a go tomorrow (got to find that spring compressor before I go nuts -- or studs ;)).
