Are these the correct ignition leads?
Just want to verify I'm ordering the correct ones for my Rev2.
Part Number: 40982507J on Eurocarparts.
http://www.eurocarparts.com/basket.php
And can you guys recommend some spark plugs from the choice on there please
Finally is the distribution cap and rotor arm the same for all Revs? The ones on there seem to be for Rev1.
Thanks for any help you can offer guys, it is appreciated

Re: Are these the correct ignition leads?
Link doesn't work bud, but, for rev2 on, you need the 5mm leads. Also, the distributor caps are different from rev2 on, as again, they accept the 5mm leads.
Rev1 had 7mm

Re: Are these the correct ignition leads?
Would only use genuine Toyota leads if I were you.
If you still have them in your car they have the manufacture date printed on them. Got 20 years out of mine and they only went because I upped the boost and the increased Voltage needs to spark caused the insulation to fail on the number 1 lead down in the plug well.
Also the rotor almost never needs replacement but the caps most certainly do and the wear is obvious if you look at it.

+1. I tried those cheap leads on my NA. They were cheap for a reason. Fell apart and I'm sure they gave me a shock when touched.
Oem Toyota or the NGK blue ones.
Edit. Just looked at those leads you linked to. Nipparts I think - similar product number from a quick search. They go for around £30 on eBay so not cheap from Eurocarparts. The NGK or oem Denso ones from GTSchris are shorter than standard but fit fine without the carrier.

Ignition leads
Toyota OEM are best but if your budget is tight get the NGK ones from
http://www.gtschris.com/store/comersus_ ... ategory=63
Cheaper than those in your link as well.
Sparks plugs
Copper: NGK BKR6E - http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/pages/datab ... rtno=BKR6E
Iridium: NGK BKR6EIX - http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/pages/datab ... no=BKR6EIX
Rotor arm is the same but dizzy cap isn't
Rev1 = 7mm leads - http://www.camskill.co.uk/m5b0s606p2718 ... p_to_12_91
Rev 2+ = 5mm leads - http://www.camskill.co.uk/m5b0s606p2719 ... 91_Onwards

Re: Are these the correct ignition leads?
Thanks very much gents.
So I'll order the NGK leads from gts Chris. Also the NGK Platinum spark plugs?
Edit: From what I can gather the oem ignition leads are cheaper than the NGK. I don't mind paying a few quid more if the NGK are an upgrade but would it be best to stay oem?
And to clarify i'll be best off getting the distribution cap and rotor arm from camskill?
The car passed it's MOT with no advisories yesterday so I'm treating it

The Denso leads from GTSchris are shorter than the original Toyota oem ones, as explained on his website, although the same maker. He sells both but longer oem ones cost around £130.

Re: Are these the correct ignition leads?
My recommendation for this
Sparks
http://www.camskill.co.uk/m5b0s2386p117 ... 89_to_1999
or
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151031472573? ... 1439.l2649
Dist. Cap & Rotor Arm - I always get the Blueprint ones from Camskill
http://www.camskill.co.uk/m5b0s2453p0/T ... ncillaries
You'll have the 5mm and 7mm dizzy caps there. By the way, all my posted links are for the 3S-GE Import. But I'm guessing the parts are the same as the UK spec. edit Just noticed, they're also for the Rev 3 :/
Ignition Leads? I sent Mr-MR2 or MR2Ben (can't remember) a message and they had a set with the holder ready to go out. Think it was around £30-40 for OEM leads. Used, but in very good condition.

Re: Are these the correct ignition leads?
The blue NGK leads, available from gts Chris, are only about £65 for a set - that's what I paid for mine. Can't go wrong

Yeah, I'm going to order those I'll get the dizzy cap from camskill. Can you suggest what plugs to get? Preferably from one of these suppliers as it will save on post.GazRev1Tubby wrote:The blue NGK leads, available from gts Chris, are only about £65 for a set - that's what I paid for mine. Re: Are these the correct ignition leads?
The sparks you can get from Camskill, BKR6EIX (Standard Heat Range) £6.50 each, putting a set at £26?

Re: Are these the correct ignition leads?
Yes. Plus postage. Makes sense to use them if you're ordering a dizzy cap + rotor as well.Dariunas wrote:The sparks you can get from Camskill, BKR6EIX (Standard Heat Range) £6.50 each, putting a set at £26?
I would rather use them than some unknown e-bay supplier.
