What's the going rate for a Clutch replacement?

Post by Artiz »

My beloved Mk2 Rev1 finally needs it's first clutch replacement after 99,500 miles!

Was just curious if anybody had a rough idea of the going rate for a new clutch + labour on a Rev1 down South London/Kent boarders?

£250 - £500 depending on which clutch and which garage you take it to

Much of the cost will be labour, which will depend very much on where you have it done. Limp it up to the frozen north or DIY?

Cheers folks... That has given me a rough idea of what kind of hit my bank balance will take! Going to keep car off road for next couple weeks while I shop around... At least I can delay the emotional moment of seeing the clock ticking over 100,000 miles for a bit longer!
