Anyone know the car? Could that item in the centre of the rear window be an IMOC sticker?

Re: Ooops!
Blimey - "confident" is not the word! More like convinced of his own greatness.

Couple of threads on IMOC about it.TonyleFrog wrote:http://bridgetogantry.com/2/index.php/h ... d-f-ked-up

Basically, Non-MR2 turbo driver drives around green hell in the wet. This happens!
I wouldn't take mine around there in the dry!

Re: Ooops!
As I said on IMOC a week before BTG picked up on it:
"It's like an ice-rink" he says, and then plants the throttle before even starting to straighten up the car. The rest was inevitable

Re: Ooops!
I don't think he even did that Mark! He went in too quick, unbalanced the car on a slippery corner and just didn't know what to do!shinny wrote:As I said on IMOC a week before BTG picked up on it:

Re: Ooops!
Listen to it - he says there's no grip and then plants the throttle before straightening the wheel. You can hear the engine note change

Re: Ooops!
All contributing to the possibility of our little cars becoming future classics i guess! Glad he and co-pilot are okay; but a very uneducated driving style.

Watched it again on my desktop PC and you're right!shinny wrote:Listen to it - he says there's no grip and then plants the throttle before straightening the wheel. You can hear the engine note change
Classic no-no in any RWD car, let alone a mid engined one like the MR2
That's also another reason I'll only do the Nurburgring on my PS3, I'd rather not worry about the weather conditions and other individuals driving badly.

Re: Ooops!
I'm watching it on my phone but is it just me or is it the lift-off that actually spins him? I'm sure I can hear the dump valve go while he's sideways. Am I wrong in thinking that if he'd kept his foot in he'd have had half a chance of getting it straight again?
Kiz - I absolutely loved my visit - real "bucket list" stuff, but I'd be very reluctant to go back.
Beautiful place filled with, and ruined by, a lot of people who are basically huge egos pumped up with testosterone and adrenaline. Some of them are highly skilled as well (many more aren't) but the key missing link is enough experience of the track to deploy their cars.
Very early on in the day you get a feel for which cars will be occupying a low loader soon and they don't normally take long to prove you right.
For reference I'm not claiming to be a ring-god, as we can all see from the video you don't need to know a thing about the place to spot the ambulance magnets!

Re: Ooops!
He ignored the conditions end of.
Some places even when you know it's wet you know you can bring in part and full throttle. But parts of that track looked dangerous to bring in anything before straightening.
He drove like it was dry. Or at least drove like a noob to rwd turbo cars. That's how it felt to me. If it was dry conditions the car wouldn't have spun where it did IMO.
Though if it was dry. Would he have been taking even more risks? Who knows.
