SARD BOV question - gap between piston and fitment?

Post by Howlin_Mad »

I've just bought a 2nd hand SARD racing BOV as an alternative to my leaking HKS, and it looks like the piston is not sealing correctly. Is this right?

If you look at the semi circular opening between the MR2 hardpipe adapter and the bov itself there is a slight gap. If I shine a light into it from the side and look down the adapter I can see a gap. Will the VAC pull this shut at idle and then work OK or have I a problem if I fit it?

Not seen one of those. Doesn't look correct though.
Add the vac line to it without it plumbed and see you can still shine a light through it.
Should be able to seal it someway

Going to fit it later today and check it under VAC pressure.

Well, after failing to get the old leaky HKS off, I headed into MRTwos to get it off with a much smaller ratchet spanner, and got the SARD fitted. Holds boost really well now  :D

Much nicer sound too, more of an air rush than the bird chirp of the HKS. Looks like the VAC does help it seal when off boost.

Happy days :th:
