Oil filter part numbers - definitive and up-to-date
Toyota have simplified the part numbers of oil filters, making most of the ones you find on the web obsolete. Any factory fit MR2 engine will take one of these two:
SW20 (mk2) NA 3s-ge and ZZW30 (mk3) 1zz-fe: 90915-YZZJ1
AW11 (mk1) 4a-ge/4a-gze and SW20 (mk2) Turbo 3s-gte: 90915-YZZJ2
This is also the correct filter for a 2zz-ge swapped mk3
- I'm now led to believe this has been superseded by 90915-YZZE2
In addition, 1MZ and 3VZ V6 swaps would use: 90915-YZZJ3
SW20 (mk2) NA 3s-ge and ZZW30 (mk3) 1zz-fe: 90915-YZZJ1
AW11 (mk1) 4a-ge/4a-gze and SW20 (mk2) Turbo 3s-gte: 90915-YZZJ2

Well. Looks like I put the shorter one in my tubby last oil change. Woops. Not that it will make much difference. Thanks for the info. I guess I missed this post a few months back.

Yeah and the new filters are all "censored" compared to a few years ago when they were clearly made in Japan and not China. Still charging you the same for it however. Construction of it is totally different, would have bought a few if I knew they were going to change it.
