Re: 1mzfe v6 exhaust advice
Hi and I’m late to the party. I have a 3vz-fe turbo in my 2. I run a full custom exhaust with no back box just 2.5” to a swept tee pipe then to quad tips. Its sounds amazing. Also I have a screamer pipe from the external waste gate. If you have a look on youtube you should find it or heres a link if it works

. But long before I turbo’d the v6 I ran it na for a year or 2. I just made a custom y pipe into a very rare na Remus twin exit back box. Sounded awesome. As for choking the v6 with a single exit I would disagree. As you need to look at the size of the one tail pipe compared to the two smaller tail pipes on the twin.

Why not give Paul a ring and ask him what he thinks, nice guy, a mine of information on MR2's and always helpfuljuliankv73 wrote: ↑22/06/23 12:59
Thank you, had a read though the posts on there and I'm conflicted...Paul Woods said the best sounding exhaust closest to the V6 was Mongoose! But others have said that it can get a bit drony at higher speeds and motorway driving.
Then later on another member said he had a Nur Spec (with a bung) and that was great with no drone or boom in the cockpit when motorway cruising.

Re: 1mzfe v6 exhaust advice
was looking through my old PM's on IMOC, and found one from Paul Woods, and he was recommending the Toysports exhaust, cut off the cans and have smaller ones welded on. When I looked at recent Toyosports ones they look quite good, but the not dissimilar to the Mongoose.

You might want to travel down to Sussex and use Jeff Trump or Patrick Chambers

Re: 1mzfe v6 exhaust advice
the main gain for the V6 is having a good Y-Pipe made that removes the "standard" restrictive T pipe. RRoad results = 10bhp extra
My 3VZfe ran with either a mongoose or a japspeed. both twins exits as I think it looked better balanced. (personal view).
The Mongoose was quieter and gave bit more low down torque (longer route of exhaust before baffle can), the Japspeed was loud but allowed higher revs (c500rpm over the mongoose) (centre split into 2 sets of baffle cans) so bit more top end power but could be dronie at at 70mph. trick is dont do 70mph lol.

Re: 1mzfe v6 exhaust advice
I've got a NUR Spec on T2 (3S-GTE) which does that. I'll guarantee that one will be worse on a n/a V6.juliankv73 wrote: ↑21/06/23 7:49 I had Berk twin exhaust, never fitted and sold on. Then had a hks hipower, that was nice but didn't really do the engine justice and took that off. Then had a KO racing R1. That was great, but that would set of car alarms and my Dad knew it was me coming around to see him before I got into the street lol.
Mine won't pass the least restrictive noise test on UK tracks (105dB) without a bung.
