Hand Brake Cable Part Numbers
Hi All,
Trying to source two rear hand brake cables for my MK2. Been given two OEM numbers 4643017050 and 4642017050. I have a couple of questions, firstly are both cables identical so can I use the same one on either side and are the numbers supplied correct for my car, which is a rev1, march 1991.
Any info appreciated.
Darren

Re: Hand Brake Cable Part Numbers
The Toyota EPC has those two part numbers listed for the entire production run of Mk2 MR2s.
https://toyota-europe.epc-data.com/mr2/ ... 601/46420/
https://toyota-europe.epc-data.com/mr2/ ... 601/46430/
The fact that the numbers are different suggests they are not 100% identical and are handed (i.e. L/R).

Not Plan B again!! Why don't we just go with plan B in the first place?

From TCB's site.
Hand Brake Cable
MR2 Mk2 SW20 (1989 -1992)
Part number: J16268
Price: £25.00 + vat each cable
Hand Brake Cable
MR2 Mk2 SW20 (1989 -1992)
Part number: J16277
Price: £25.00 + vat each cable
When ordering, ask Paul which side the numbers refer to. The page doesn't say.

Re: Hand Brake Cable Part Numbers
IIRC the difference is in the brackets attached to each cable. If the cables were the same there would be only one number. Mr T uses the same part number for identical parts across all the model ranges.
There's a "How To" in KY2 for fitting https://mr2oc.co.uk/know-your-2/mk2/mk2 ... cable.html
