Locked stereo. Display showing "help"

Hi all
Can anyone assist please? I have 1993 MR2 T bar with the original stereo in place. I have security code and have never input it wrongly. However recently after my battery died the display says HELP. The manual says contact Toyota dealer but is that the only option? I don't have a dealership locally. Many thanks.

Try pressing 1,4,6 and the power button all together at the same time.
What does the display say after that?

Tried a few more times - still saying DEALER

From DEALER I got it to say MCODE but it wants 3 figures and it is not my usual code. Assume it stands for manufacturers code!

Ok. Try inputting the last 3 digits of the VIN number.
